Tennessee

The Volunteer State

Oh Tennessee, home to hush puppies, sweet tea, and more country songs than I know! Tennessee actually holds a huge place in my heart because it was the first state I traveled to all by my self. I was only 12 years old on my way to see my Omi and Opi :) It is such a great state because I love some good southern hospitality!

During my trip we got to see and eat a lot! Ha! But one of the coolest things was going to see the Parthenon. Nashville is home to a full size replica! More information can be found in my post here.

A Nashville stamp is the LovelessCafe and is a must stop for all you southern cuisine lovers! They have some of the BEST homemade biscuits I have ever had! Not to mention the adorable country atmosphere of the restaurant. They are a southern style restaurant so be sure to get your fill of sweet tea and those biscuits!

There is also a motel, several shops and the Cafe all in one stop! So after you eat make sure you walk around and visit the BBQ pits and Loveless gift shop! We took home tons of jams, cooking nick-knacks and more!

Another delicious stop is the Elistopn Palace! It is like an old time soda fountain complete with mini jukeboxes at every booth, it really was so classic. They have a full menu of food but we went for the shakes and malts, and they were delicious!! I can highly recommend the Hot Fudge Malt or the Dreamsicle!

After filling our tummies to the max we decided to walk if off through Broadway street! We loved listening to live music, window shopping, and see Downtown Nashville first hand! I talk a lot more about all the activities we did in my Nashville post if you are looking for some things to check out!

I highly recommend walking or biking the pedestrian bridge because you can see the Nashville skyline, complete with the Batman building! If you make it all the way across you can go to the Titians stadium! Tickets are pretty cheap ;)

My favorite store on Broadway was of course Savannah's Candy Kitchen! They had everything your sweet tooth could dream of from fudge to caramel apples and every candy in between!

Of course there is so much more to do in Tennessee. I was only there for a few days and really wanted to spend time playing cards with my family! But there is still a few things on my dad's and I's lists, so I have no doubt I will be back :)

Like I said the main reason Tennessee makes my heart so full is the people who live there! My Omi and Opi are some of the most amazing people I know, I love my family!

What is your favorite thing in Tennessee?!
