Dollymount Beach Ireland
Seeing the Celtic Sea
You may have picked up on the beach theme here at SaltWaterVibes. Basically - if there is water, we will find it! That was no exception here in Ireland. Even through the freezing temps and snow - we came out to see the Celtic Sea! Being that Ireland is an island, seeing water may seem pretty easy, but sadly there is not beaches every other mile.
can I swim at dollymount beach?
If you come in the summer time and the water feels warm enough to you then why not! There is a large sandy beach section where people pop up the umbrellas and set out the towels. It is a great spot to watch the waves roll in - no matter the weather! It was snowing the day we came so we just admired the beach from the walkway and didn’t make it down to the sandy shores. You can walk all the way around the parkway on the paved path! If you are looking for other places to swim around then check some out here!
If you come at the right time, you might be lucky enough to see some Irish seals! They frequent the waters and beach area here quite often. You might have the best chance the earlier you come during the day but, they are on mother natures schedule!
where is it at?
Dollymount beach is located just outside Dublin! We rented a car while exploring Ireland so it was easy to drive from the city and park in the designated parking lot here. However, if you don’t have a car then you can just hop in a Uber and it can take you right here! If you choose public transportation you may have to walk a few blocks but here are some directions.
